Equation #1

6 comments:

  1. Dory wanted a certain amount of seashells for her birthday, so Nemo went to Helena (The psychic)'s sea shell shop, which had exactly five times the number of seashells Dory wanted for her birthday. However, when Nemo went to the shop, he found that he didn't have as much money, and bought one less, and Dory was sad. To make Dory happy again, Marilyn wanted to buy the certain number of shells that Dory wanted, but found that he didn't have as much money, so he ended up giving Dory the same amount of seashells that Nemo did as well. After the end of the day, Helena the psychic, counted the amount of seashells she had in her shop, and it was 8 more than the amount of sea shells that Dory wanted.

  2. So then there are so many characters...There are 4 characters, which makes the problem confusing.
The word problem is functional to the equation; However it takes a long time to understand. It's not boring, and it's creative.
Maybe you can make this more simple by not describing Helena as the physic, but just Helena.

  4. We think that the story was a bit confusing because there were a lot of characters. However the story is functional and works with the equation, but it takes some time because it is a bit confusing. I think instead of having a lot of characters buy the sea shells you could say that one person but the sea shells but gave some away or lost some to reduce the number of characters. However, the story is creative and original. The story does work with the equation but it is a bit confusing.

  5. The Story is functional and and makes sense. It takes a while to understand because it is a little bit sophisticated with more characters. I We would right the equation from the word problem. The story is creative. I think you did not need to mention the shopkeeper at all. You could have just had shop instead of a name, it would have been easier because it would reduce one character. Overall, it had not grammatical errors. Some positive points are that it makes sense and it is very creative. Overall, a very good word problem.

  6. It was Dory’s birthday, so she was looking forward to the gifts her dear friends Nemo and Marilyn would give her. She hinted that she wanted a certain number of seashells for her birthday the day before, just to make sure that her friends would get her the gift she wanted. On Dory’s birthday, Nemo went to the psychic's sea shell shop, which had exactly five times the number of seashells Dory wanted for her birthday. However, when Nemo went to the shop, he found that he didn't have as much money as he had originally thought, and bought one less than the number of seashells Dory had said she wanted. Nemo felt sorry to Dory, and called Marilyn to get more seashells. Marilyn agreed, but when he went into the shop, he found that the seashells were more expensive than he had thought, and ended up purchasing the same number of seashells that Nemo bought. At the end of the day, the psychic counted the amount of seashells she had in her shop, and it was 8 more than the amount of sea shells that Dory wanted. (The psychic knew this because well.. she’s a psychic) How many sea shells did Dory want for her birthday?
