  2. Today, Sophie earned 18 dollars for selling cookies. Two of Sophie’s friends and she bought x cookies from a wholesaler for 2 dollars each. The wholesaler discounted them 1 dollar from the total price. At the end of the day, Sophie and her friends calculated their profit, and each of their profit was 5 dollars. How many cookies did they buy?

  4. The story fits the equation. It is functional but is missing a lot of details. It takes a long while to form the equation from the story. The story is confusing because the story doesn't tell who bought the cookies or if they divided the amount of the cookies equally. It also does not mention if the shared the money. It would be better if you could improve this by adding more details. The story does not have grammatical errors. The story is creative but could have been better with some other situation than cookies. Some positive things are that this story fits the equation, it is creative and concise.

  5. The story does fit the equation and is functional, but had to be read over a few times to be understood clearly. It wasn't really confusing after understanding it, but if it had explained about if the cookies were divided into an equal amount, like Mukund and Jin Ho said above, it would be more easier to understand. I couldn't find any grammatical mistakes and I thought it was creative enough. It could be made better if more specific details were put in and, the positive points about this story are that it was creative and does fit and relate to the equation.

  7. We think that the story is functional and we could quite easily create the equation out of the problem you gave us. We thought that it was not very confusing except for the part where they divided them. We thought that you could have said they divided their profits equally amongst them to make it a bit more clear. There were no grammar mistakes we found. And we think it is pretty creative although we agree with Mukund and Jinho when we say that cookies could be changed into something more creative. We liked that the problem was simple to understand.
